A step forward for Chum Kune Do

No matter how you live your lives, there will always be an occasion when you are confronted with violence.

If like many of us you were in your teens or later in life, when you began your Martial Arts training you might wonder once or twice, how much faster you would have progressed if you began training as a child three times a week. It's a nice idea. I would love to begin Chum Kune DO from the age of five. I would be brilliant, wouldn't I?

In any sport, starting young and finding a good instructor or coach is the hard bit that will bring out the very best of any student in they chosen sport or arts.

And there is no reason why a child can't be introduced to Martial arts as soon as they can comprehend the basic philosophy. With a good instructor, who understands a childs limitation, there should be no danger in training.

In terms of danger to their parties, a six years old, who takes a few Kickboxing and Kung Fu lessons, is hardly likely to become a danger to the public. If anything, the respect taught by a competent instructor will aid maturity.

Statistics assure us that a child of around six years of age is in the highest risk category for becoming a victim of violent crime. Sick isn't it?

But it happens, with luck, that Chum Kune Do will provide your child, with increasing self-confidence and a healthy interest, and one day it could save their lives. Then shouldn't we encourage them?

You may be uneasy about your child training in a class with adults in case she/he is hurt, by them.

I find the opposite, beside, there is always an instructors supervising, who wont put a six year old in a full contact sparring session against a 31 years old heavy weight.

In my view many instructors will benefit from treating children with a bit more respect.

During my early days I wanted to do Karate, though I lasted only three month, thanks to the instructors attitude. I was lucky because that early exprence might have will put me off for good.

Instructors should remember that if someone takes a class with you, whether they are 13 or 33 they are taking it because they want to, and if you turn the experience into a bad one, then they are not going to stay.

Whenever possible a student should leave the dojo feeling it has been an enjoyable experience.

If the child is put off by the comparative violence of Chum kune Do, then he/she might enjoy Football, having a choice is what it's all about. There are worse things that they could take up, and just think what they'll be like at twenty.

When you look at something that may seem to be negative exprence. Most people will always see what they choose to believe is true.

In Chum Kune Do, the result are very good in students, and winning is not everything, winning is the only thing.

At Chum Kune Do Martial Arts Academy, we want you to do well, and we'll help you to do it, and the rest is up to you to accomplish your preferment successfully.

As a Master Instructor I need to understand them, be able to guide them, and know which button to press, to get the very best out of them.

Good attitude, makes all the difference

Commitment means giving 100%. For as long as it takes to succeed

People will follow, only where you lead

Your success is in direct proportion to the amount of effort you put in.

Effort, you can't get to the top unless you keep climbing

We become what we practice, technical perfection is not an action, it a habit.

We must all work together towards the same goals, remember, if you are not for and with us, then you are against us.

One ounce of encouragement is worth more then a ton of critism.

There are three types of people, the achievers, the non-achievers, and the dreamers.

There is a life long study in the Martial Arts. And on one can say that this
