Antony Tills

Hi, my name is Antony Tills, and I have been going to Chum Kune Do for 5 years now. I started on the first of September 2001.

I joined this club all because, I needed to learn how to face up to people and know how to fight when the time comes. I had trouble facing people, anssd needed to build strength and confidence. I also needed to improve my concentration skills, and task-will; there was a time that I had no self-discipline, awareness, or esteem, and this is what started to cause all my problems.

My training and progress through this club has led me to brown sash. Now I am persistent, and individual in the making of my own aspirations of what I wish to achieve in the club and my life. I grow to respect the people who give up there time to better themselves and you. There is only one idealistic term in my mind when I think of martial arts, and that's; "you only get out what you put in."

There has been many times, I have wish to prove my self, but that does not make what a person is like. You need to show that you mean what you do or say, or it will never be known. I have entered so far for 3 tournaments, which were:

  • Kent international championship (3rd place fighting)
  • CKD club tournament 2002 (2nd place silver, fighting and kata)
  • British open 2004 (3rd place touch-stop fighting)

For now I am concentrating on getting my black belt by the end of this year, and hoping to achieve and instructors badge. I know the road will be tough and Sifu Clifford will push me as hard as possible, but I will not give in. I will progress my students, so that the can become great champions, and live the dreams that we all want, and maybe someday, become great Sifu's like the ones who teach them today.

I hope that when I reach my fullest potential, I will move on to teach elsewhere, and eventually create my own martial art.
