Peter Jones
Born in England in 1951.
At the age of 13 I was introduced to Judo. Although having bad
co-ordination I was surprised by my agility.
At 15 I gave up Judo due to injuries sustained from fighting with Adults.
At 21 I joined a Karate club near Kings Cross for a few weeks marching
up and down a hall kicking punching and screaming. Not knowing what I was
doing (nothing was explained, just copy others) I gave it up.
At 26 I gave up smoking and needed something to get fit with. Weight
training was the answer. So I mushroomed from a 9½ stone weakling to 10½
Muscle man.
Weight training was good but I needed more. More stamina. So combining
weight training with running I became a super fast weight trainer.
In 1987 I saw an advert in the local paper for the martial art from
Korea. This is where I met Master Clifford, who had a green belt is this
style. He already had a black Sash Shoalin Fist Kung Fu.
Then in 1990 Master Clifford started his own club and asked me to join.
I have progressed through the belts improving year on year and now have the
pleasant task of training new students in the Martial Art of Chum Kune Do.
I believe that Chum Kune Do has shaped me physically and mentally. Into a
tolerant and grateful person who is always willing to listen and help fellow
students, old and young. Physically I feel confident in anything I do. Mentally
I am calm (most of the time) and can handle most demanding situation when a
decision has to be made.
I would like to give my gratitude to Master Clifford for all his help and
training and for being a good friend.
